PROFILE: BARBARAH PATTON ARTIST
Barbarah lives in the foot hills
of the Ozark Mountains near Beaver Lake where there are lots
of beautiful vistas to inspire artistic works. Born in
Michigan, then as an adult moved to Florida where she met Don.
They wed and then moved to Arkansas where they have 40 acres
to roam on with 2 cats and 2 dogs. Between the two of them
they have NINE children, and a bunch of grandkids!
As a professional musician for
many years Barbara from her youth up only “dreamed” of the
visual arts. It was on her trip to New York City to work with
the NY Philharmonic Orchestra for the performance in Carnegie
Hall that her life’s ambition began to take shape. While there
for the week she took time to visit the art galleries and
museums, and that is when her desire for painting matured.
Upon returning home to Florida, she began to look seriously at
visual art and began to explore the idea that she could
actually PAINT! Although she continued in the professional
world of music, the visual arts did not take a back seat! In
fact it seems that Painting has taken the driver’s seat!
Although Barbara enjoys and
explores many avenues in the art world, she loves to do
peoples’ faces! or their pets, also old barns and just plain
scenic views, with still life paintings never out of site.
